WATER DOES NOT STOP

Water does not stop is an information and dissemination campaign, carried out by EMALCSA (municipal water company in the area of  A Coruña SA) with the collaboration of the Marinas Coruñesas and Tierras del Mandeo Biosphere Reserve, on the water cycle aimed at the educational community de la Coruña and its area of influence, through the “Water does not stop” School Contest.

OBJECTIVES:

The School Contest “Water does not stop” was created in order to value the importance of water as a natural and limited resource, and to promote awareness about or its responsible use among the educational community of Coruña and its area of influence, establishing the following specific objectives:

  1. Know the different uses of water and ecosystems associated with the Mero River basin, or its associated heritage, and the environmental values in the Special Conservation Area “Abegondo – Cecebre Reservoir”, core area of the Biosphere Reserve, as well as other areas of special environmental interest linked.
  2. Know the origin of the water that is consumed in the city of A Coruña and in its influenza area; The processes of purification, distribution and sanitation of water, as well as the rational use of @dito resource.
  3. Raise awareness of the importance of responsible and sustainable use of water in the city of Coruña and its closest area.
  4. Raise awareness in the educational community and the general population in good habits of use and consumption of water.
  5. Disseminate the traditional uses of water: fountains, mills, bridges …, with an integrative and sustainable vision of the management of two resources and the well-being of people.

 

To meet these objectives, undertake ou xogo “A Auga non para”, as a means for raptors and raptors to learn a didactic, enjoyable and participatory or important way that is this resource, and acquire habits of consumption and support.

By means of the questions proposed by each other, your students will go through a tract that follows water in the area of Coruña, from or source of all the main rivers that supply Encoro de Abegondo-Cecebre to their treatment at the Bens WWTP, before being returned de novo a natureza.

GAME:

The game called “Water does not stop”, is aimed at students in the 3rd cycle of primary school, and was designed to be used in the classroom in an educational and informative way as well as entertaining.

The game simulates the route of water in the metropolitan area of A Coruña within the hydrographic cup of the Mero and Barcés rivers. @Dito tour is divided into 4 thematic areas according to the area it passes through and the functions that water performs.

HOW TO PLAY:

  1. Access the link

  3. Select the number of players who are going to participate in the game (1,2,3 or 4) and PRESS CONTINUE
  4. On the right side there is a dice … CLICK ON IT
  5. A question with 3 possible answers will appear on the screen… CAREFULLY PLEASE THE QUESTION AND MARK THE ANSWER (THERE IS ONLY ONE CORRECT ANSWER)
  6. If you are right, you must CLICK on CONTINUE so that the token moves to the corresponding box
  7. In the event of not being successful, a message of “INCORRECT” will appear on the screen and you must CLICK CONTINUE.
  8. The next player must CLICK on the dice and a question will appear again

EMALCSA and the Marinas Coruñesas and Tierras del Mandeo Biosphere Reserve have been developing for several years in the schools of the city of La Coruña and its metropolitan area in the School Contest “EN EL AGUA NO PARA”

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
The Contest is aimed at 5th and 6th grade students from the educational centers of the city of La Coruña and two municipalities in its metropolitan area (Abegondo, Arteixo, Bergondo, Betanzos, Cambre, Carral, Culleredo, Oleiros e Sada).

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE
