EDUCATING IN THE BIOSPHERE PROGRAM

After the declaration of the territory as a Biosphere Reserve, there was a concern within the Reserve about how to approach environmental education in this territory in a comprehensive way, about how to make visible @dito declaration by UNESCO and its opportunities among the population, as well how to transfer the values of the Biosphere Reserves to the population and make it known, with the aim of ensuring the construction of a participatory Biosphere Reserve in which society, and especially young people, are the basic pillar on which to settle.

This program of activities to be developed with the school community, is presented as a non-formal learning initiative in different fields, closely connected with the objectives of the Biosphere Reserve, in order to stimulate creativity and youth potential in the processes of analysis and practical application of the knowledge acquired, to get involved in a sustainable space in terms of innovation and social welfare.

TOPICS SELECTED BY EACH EDUCATIONAL CENTER

Each educational center of the City of Sada, selected those topics that best adapted to the curriculum of the center and that seemed to them of most interest, within those offered in the Program.

ADAPTATION OF THE PROGRAM EDUCATING IN THE BIOSPHERE TO COVID-19

Faced with the impossibility of continuing with the activities of the Educating in the Biosphere Program in person, the Biosphere Reserve decided to adapt all the contents pending execution to be offered electronically to the educational community.

This initiative was agreed both with the Sada City Council and with the addresses of all educational centers, with the approval of all the parties involved.

From the Biosphere Reserve, various contents were prepared, adapted and published (videos, didactic sheets, materials, etc.) that, through the Google Classroom Platform, were made available to teaching staff from the different educational centers of the City of Sada so that they had transferred the students in the most appropriate way according to the criteria of each teacher.

In order to give him access to the contents, from the Biosphere Reserve, he contacted the addresses and coordinator of activities of the different centers, informing about how the teachers could access the different contents and giving them the necessary instructions for @dito access.

According to the information available to the Biosphere Reserve, based on the number of teachers who accessed the content, it is estimated that the Educating in the Biosphere Online Program allowed more than 320 students to access and work @dito thematic.

Taking into account the number of students who participated in person and online, the Educating in the Biosphere Program managed to reach approximately 1,000 schoolchildren from the City of Sada (participation expected in the event of developing all the activities in person: 1,071 schoolchildren). Below is a list of images of the content offered to teachers through the Google Classroom Platform, for different topics.
